MV CAPACITOR

MV Capacitor the products is a give a support for Medium voltage power factor correction, the various type of installation depend on a need for the application. There are two option for Single Phase and Three Phase capacitors are designed for long life use.

Terminals for the Capacitors are made with ceramic bushings, it suited for indoor and outdoor. The single phase capacitors can also be made with a pole connected to the container, so that use for instance to make ground insulated banks.

The standard enclosure for the capacitors are use Aluminum, but can use stainless steel plate for extreme environment such as industrial or marine.

The capacitors can provided with internal fuse, every  capacitive  element  is  provided with a fuse set in series with the element. If the capacitive element breaks the fuse trips, disconnecting the broken element from the unit that is not involved in the short circuit, so make it possible for the capacitor to work.

The fuse tripping then produces a reduction in capacitance; if a number of fuses trip, the variation must  be  such  as  to  anyhow  keep  the  resulting total capacitance within the limits of tolerance assign by the reference standards.

There is 2 type of external fuses used are divided into:

  • H.R.C. FUSES
  • EXPULSION FUSES

Unbalance Protection

The function of the current transformer is to measure the currents which is from the unbalance of the two stars of the bank of capacitors and to insulate neutral at the same level as the mains voltage. There are two option for Current Transformer based on request to Inside Installation or Outside Installation.

Overpressure Control

The capacitors can be equipped with an overpressure control device (commonly called pressure switch) supplying a simply but effective protection system against excessive pressures within capacitor.

In case internal pressure would exceed the critical value,  pressure  switch  changes  the  state  of  the contact(connected to the circuit of net tripping), allowing  capacitor  disconnection  from  network

This solution added to HRC fuse, is often used in protection of simple three-phase capacitors or of small banks. Pressure switch is equipped with a protection rubber cap that grants an IP55 protection.

Capacitor Bank

The capacitor banks offers various  solutions  for  industrial  power  factor correction  thanks  to  the  many  combinations that can be made to :

  • Small and high powers
  • Working voltages greater than 24 kV obtained with overlapping frame structures
  • Indoor and outdoor installations
  • Constructions on fully open structures (IP rating 00) or in special boxes (for powers up to 14.4 Mvar-24 kV also with degree of protection IP 54)
  • Different levels of insulation
  • Operation under extreme working and environmental conditions
